Community Services Group (CSG) recognizes the importance of assisting future Human Services, Business Operations and Information Technology professionals to prepare for their careers. To this end, we offer internship opportunities that will help meet the academic requirements of students enrolled in a university, college or vocational program

Through our supervised internship opportunities, we strive to ensure that future professionals will enter their field with a sense of responsibility, dedication and commitment; ready to make a positive impact in the lives of others.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF AN INTERNSHIP AT CSG?

All Interns:

Gain experience with a large Human Services organization in the areas of Mental Health, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Child & Youth, Autism, Business Operations or Information Technology.
Attend staff meetings and learn various facets of employment in your field.

Human Services Interns:

Interact directly with individuals participating in our programs.
Participate in treatment plans and observe medication administration procedures.

WILL I GET PAID AS AN INTERN AT CSG?

CSG has both unpaid and paid internships.

WHAT HOURS ARE available FOR INTERNSHIPS?

Day hours in administrative or nonresidential programs.
Limited evening and weekend hours depending on supervision requirements.

IS THERE A TRAINING PERIOD BEFORE THE INTERNSHIP BEGINS?

Our experienced staff serve as our trainers. Training begins by interacting with and shadowing our staff. This is an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about your field of study. Training is ongoing throughout your internship.

ARE THERE OPPORTUNITIES FOR EMPLOYMENT WITH CSG AFTER GRADUATION?

Yes, employment opportunities are available. CSG hires for a variety of positions that will allow you to start or grow your career after you complete your internship.

ARE CLEARANCES REQUIRED TO INTERN AT CSG?

Yes, to be considered for an internship at CSG, you must be able to obtain clearances as defined by our programs' regulations. All clearance are at the intern's expense. We will provide you with the information on which clearances you will need and how to obtain them after you are offered an internship. Students must have all clearances required by the program before starting their internship.

PA State Criminal History Check - All programs require an intern to obtain this clearance. We are able to accept an active clearance if it is less than 1 year old. You must be able to provide us with an original copy for verification.
PA State and FBI Child Abuse Clearances - Programs working with anyone under 21 years of age require these clearances. Students who already have these active clearances will be required to obtain new up-to-date PA State and FBI Child Abuse Clearances after they are accepted as an intern at CSG.
Department of Aging Clearance - If you have not been a permanent resident of PA for the last 2 years you will also be required to obtain this clearance.

CAN I VIDEO OR AUDIO TAPE DURING MY INTERNSHIP?

No, CSG does not permit video or audio recordings at any of our programs.

For an unpaid internship - Click on the "Apply for This Position" button below and follow the instruction on how to apply.
For a paid internship - If we have paid internships available, they will be posted separately by location and indicate they are paid. You will apply for paid internships through the separate posting.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR AN INTERNSHIP YOU MUST BE ABLE TO MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

Be a student or accepted in a human services, business operations, or information technology related undergraduate or graduate degree program.
Be receiving credits and approved by the university, college or school to participate in a CSG internship.
Be able to provide criminal background checks that were completed within the last year.

All resumes will be reviewed, however, only those students we are considering for an internship will be contacted. We interview potential interns during the semester before their internship, so if you apply prior to that semester, we will hold your application for consideration at that time.
